9km by 9am Winter walking tips - Light up your walk

I walk 9km every morning before 9 o'clock, which means in the Winter months the walks are pre-sunrise, so it is pretty much dark for at least 50% of the walking time.

Due to the dark mornings, my early morning Winter months walks are pre-sunrise, so it is pretty much dark for at least 50% of the walking time.

Therefore, lighting is essential.

My go to light is a cyclops design hat with the light positioned in the middle of the hat.

The main benefit of this is you are hands free and do not have to carry a torch.

The one I use is a LED knitted hat with three lighting levels, lasting for around 2 hours on full charge and can be recharged by USB .

As a back up I also hang a torch around my wrist just in case I need it.
