Set to take place, August 11-13th, in the South Lake District, this unique festival promises a captivating experience for active families, featuring GOAT (greatest of all time) athletes, immersive sporting sessions, and adventures on the trails around the stunning location of Holker Hall.

The line up of ‘GOAT’s’ includes Steve Cram, Paula Radcliffe, Chris Thompson, Non Stanford, Steve Backley and Frances Quinn plus an exceptional line up of athletes running workshops and active classes including Markus Stitz, Karen Pickering, Gemma Hillier-Moses and many more listed on the website.

The full schedule has been shared, with the weekend kickstarting at midday Friday 11th and ending Sunday 13th 6pm. Attendees will be able to join active sessions including social runs between 2.5KM and 30KM and/or 25KM & 40KM trail gravel rides, King/Queen of the Hill, yoga for runners with Becky Lyne and wild athletics, morning Pilates plus bums & tums strength and conditioning with Gemma Hillier-Moses and families on track with Paula Radcliffe.

The weekend also includes a full schedule of educational and informative talks covering topics such as Mountain Rescue, Endurance Nutrition, Bike Mechanic Workshops, Wonderful Wild Women and fireside chats with GOATs spread throughout the weekend.

For families, Paula Radcliffe will run family relays on track, sponsors Cumbria Wildlife Trust will host Kid’s Outdoor Skills & Crafts plus Hope Academy will offer sessions in the Kid’s Cyclo Cross Skills Centre. There are also opportunities for families to take part in orienteering, attempt the climbing and activity wall and dance throughout the evening to musicians from the local area. The evening’s music will be delivered by DJ Miss Maverick, South Lakes Rock School, Brother Rabbit and Indigo Youth.

"We are excited to announce a packed schedule for the Wild Goat Festival," said Steve Cram. "For our first outing, we have curated a full weekend of inspiration and action that welcomes families who love to explore new trails on foot or bike or want to hear from the GOATs themselves – we’ve organized some local bands for an evening of music, craft workshops, health and wellbeing talks and it’s all aimed to create an environment that fosters connection with both active lifestyles, nature and music. We can't wait to share an amazing weekend with friends and families in South Lake District."

A Wild Goat Festival ticket covers the cost of camping and food for the weekend for a family. Food options will include Podda & Wren Coffee & Cakes, Three Little Pigs, Bandito Burrito, Fell Brewery & Holker Hall Food Hall.

Tickets for the Wild Goat Festival are now available for purchase on the festival's official website. Attendees are encouraged to secure their passes early to ensure access to this not-to-be-missed celebration of getting active and on the trails!
