This week on the Outside & Active Podcast, Dom is joined by professional climber, Pete Whittaker.
Pete is one of the world’s top big wall solo climbers. He is best known for his expertise in crack climbing, which involves ascending rock formations with long, narrow fissures known as cracks.
In 2016 he made the first solo-free ascent of El Capitan in under 24hrs and in 2018, he made a sub 24hr solo of both El Capitan and Half Dome.
As a top climber, Pete continually challenges himself both physically and mentally, and is passionate about completing adventurous climbs which haven’t been accomplished by others.
Alongside his achievements in climbing he has also ventured into the YouTube world taking on various challenges and reaching a brand new audience of young climbers.
Stress incontinence can affect anyone, no matter how strong and fit we are. And it’s very common for runners to neglect pelvic floor muscles, which are just what we need to strengthen to prevent those leaks in the first place.

Efemia is a vaginal mid-urethral support pessary that can be used with running or exercising to prevent urinary leakage with 80% plus efficacy by gently lifting the urethra from the inside and creating a partial compression effect precisely at the same point that a urethral sling might be applied surgically.
Efemia is comfortable and easy to insert and can be removed after your exercise session or used for up to 16 hours at a time. Each Efemia can be washed and re-used for up to 3 months of daily use or up to 12 months of intermittent use.
Efemia can be prescribed by your GP in a starter kit of three sizes for trial (NHS code: Efemia Starter KIT NHS Code: 110505) or purchased privately from MyPelvicHealth.co.uk.
