This week on the Outside & Active Podcast we are connecting with nature as Dom welcomes nutritional therapist, Monique Parker. It can be hard to adapt to the darker and colder months so connecting with nature is even more important now.
In 2008 Monique qualified as a Nutritional Advisor but felt that wasn't enough so decided to continue studying Nutritional Therapy, which is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health and individual care.
Having struggled with health issues herself, Monique can understand how frustrating it can be if you’re not able to live life to the full and are continuously suffering from symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, bloating etc. without getting to the bottom of what is actually causing it.
Her view is that a holistic and personal approach will increase the chance of health improvement.
Alongisde being a nutritional therapist, Monique is also a writer and educator.
She has released her new book ‘Conversations on The Lost Connection with Nature’ - Understanding the Importance of Nature and the Need for (Re)Connection.
The book includes personal and candid experiences of 27 individuals who have either suffered from illness and have found recovery through the healing benefits of nature, those who have committed to nature from an early age, and professionals who have seen the benefits of natural healing in clients.
