This week on the Outside & Active Podcast, we are talking all thing menopause as Dom chats to 'Juicy Crones' writer, Jay Courtney.
Jay a writer who takes inspiration from being in the wild, whether it is sitting next to her garden pond or visiting remote places in the North Atlantic. Five years ago after a period of ill-health Jay decided to retire from her career and retirement came as a shock to her.
Jay quickly realised that she did not know how to do this part of her life. She experimented with all sorts of activities from ‘Drawing for the Terrified’, to Silver Swans ballet (not pretty), to ‘Wild Writing’. Writing emerged as her ‘thing’ and so studied for an MA in Travel and Nature Writing at Bath Spa University.
Our third act in life is the one where we weave together an understanding of our lives and accept our true selves. Many women have got in touch with Jay to tell her their ‘Juicy Crones’ adventures.
In this episode of the podcast Jay opens our eyes to the often tabooed topic of the menopause and how it should be seen as a lease of life rather than something to be petrified of.
