Blue Earth Summit

Blue Earth Summit is pleased to announce Sir Tim Smit, Rosie Stancer and Kresse Wesling as keynote speakers at the two-day event being held in Bristol on 13-14 October at The Marble Factory for day 1 and then The Wave for day 2.

We admire the mavericks. The ones who go outside the lines to reach something that we all dream of making possible. This is, in part, what the summit is all about. All three speakers are exemplary in this regard.

Sir Tim Smit is part of an incredible team at the Eden Project delivering educational inspiration in spades, biomes, geothermal energy and now an international network of like-minded communities creating Eden-inspired spaces for their own locales.

Rosie Stancer is an accomplished Polar athlete and explorer since 1996 and has embarked on a series of major polar expeditions. In 2003 she skied solo and without resupply to the South Pole, smashing previous speed records by 7 days. More impressively she set the world record in her bid as the first solo woman to reach Geo North Pole, coming to within the last degree of the North Pole before the swiftly disintegrating ice precluded completion with only days to go after 84 days alone on the frozen ocean. She has just returned from her latest adventure, ready to share her findings with the world.

Kresse Wesling CBE is a multi-award winning environmental entrepreneur. After first meeting the London Fire Brigade in 2005, Kresse launched Elvis & Kresse, which rescues and transforms decommissioned fire hose into innovative lifestyle products and returns 50% of profits to the Fire Fighters Charity. The company now collects 12 different waste streams and has several charitable partnerships and collaborations across industries.

PITCH TENT

The Pitch Tent format is now live and featuring an experienced line-up on the panel, all experts within the impact investment sphere. The funding event is a platform for high impact, fast growth ethically-led businesses to pitch their ideas and network with angel investors. Companies represented in the panel include Redrice, Mustard Seed, Broody, Crowdcube, Sustainable Ventures and in partnership with Wavelength Ventures.

BURSARY SCHEME

The Blue Earth Summit Bursary Scheme offers the next generation of sustainability pioneers, those in education or from outside of the business community a chance to attend the event for free, or at a subsidised rate. Applicants can apply here.
